Tom’s Spiced Walnuts

 

Nothing says fall like yummy spiced nuts. This is a recipe from a good friend who would often make them for dinner parties and because my boyfriend Tom liked them so much, she renamed them “Tom’s Spiced Walnuts.” I decided to make these little treats for Tom as he is taking his LSAT tomorrow and they are a nice little snack to munch on while studying. They are so super easy to make and seriously addicting… You have been warned!

Ingredients

– 2 tablespoons canola oil
– 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
– 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
– 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

* I added just a little dash of cinnamon, but this is an optional ingredient

Directions

1) In a large heavy skillet, combine the oil, balsamic glaze and spices on medium heat until blended

2) Add walnuts and cook over medium heat until toasted, about 4 minutes

3) Add brown sugar, cook 2-4 minutes or until sugar is melted

4) Remove nuts from pan and spread on cookie sheet to cool
